Metro Detroit voters will be amped-up with a once-in-a-lifetime line up
featuring speaker Chuck D - summation 12 local/national music artists, including
four-spot of Detroit's top MC's
DETROIT, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Your voice counts, at
"Detroit Rocks the Vote," hitting the Fillmore Detroit on Wednesday, Sept.
17, that message will be heard loud and clear as keynote speaker Chuck D --
addition 12 local music artists ranging from hip-hop to garage john Rock -- rev up
young voters for one of the most-anticipated presidential elections of our
time.
"Detroit Rocks the Vote," an officially sanctioned Rock the Vote event,
includes a presentation by featured verbalizer Chuck D from Public Enemy, a
politically charged rap radical, who will speak around the importance of
having your voice heard during the upcoming presidential election, no
matter your party preference.
The showcased entertainers represent genres including pop, rap, hip
hop, rockabilly, garage stone, techno, R&B, and even a slam poet --
there's something for everyone. The highlighted musicians and entertainers
include Anthony David, The Volebeats, jessica Care moore, The Go, Nadir,
Deastro and The Muggs. Black Milk will perform with eLZhi, Phat Kat and
Guilty Simpson to end the night. Music is nonpartizan and these artists
are coming together to lionise democracy.
Rock the Vote, a not-for-profit, non-partisan organization, was founded in
1990 by MTV. The first step strives to encourage young people to vote and
provides them with tools to inform themselves by incorporating
entertainment and youth culture. "Detroit Rocks the Vote" is to be a
celebratory event and work toward Rock the Vote's goal to addition voter
turnout.
Representatives from both political parties will be on hand to answer
questions and register voters. Local nonprofit groups including the Detroit
Urban League, Southwest Detroit Business Association and WARM Training
Center will talk about why and how balloting affects their missions and the
development of our community.

The Prodigy play riotous 'homecoming' show at V Festival
The Prodigy got the 4Music Stage at Chelmsford's V Festival partying tonight (August 16), as they performed in their home county of Essex.
As good as playing classics including 'Firestarter' and 'Breathe', the band, fronted by Keith Flint and Maxim Reality, performed a number of new tracks, including 'Worlds On Fire' and 'Warrior's Dance'.
Flint, robed in a striped sport coat sporting the slogan 'My Dogs Will Kill You', and Maxim continually jumped down to greet the front rows of the audience.
At one point, Maxim even grabbed a fan's grey trilby and walked in front of the barrier wearing it.
The striation, which besides includes producer and arranger Liam Howlett, were joined by a live drummer and guitar player for the set, which saw them flanked by lights molded as malicious-looking eyes.
The fructify finished with the group's 1992 hit 'Out Of Space'.

Syleena Johnson counted on her possess honesty and real life experiences to create her compelling music. The edward VII Young Chicago native confronted her possess amorous pitfalls and approach of age history on her debut CD, Chapter 1: Love, Pain & Forgiveness (Swing Records), which featured guest appearances by vapors guitar player Buddy Guy and contemporary R&B creative person R. Kelly.
Johnson's soulful rasping, reminiscent of sure-enough school R&B singers, set the tone of voice for her confessional songs around the hurting she endured in a bad kinship with a then-27-year-old man in 1997. Johnson grew from the receive and cast it behind her, finding strength from a sense of forgiveness and from the religious guidance she standard from God. In 2000, Johnson marital a previous college basketball participant, Marcus Vetts, wHO became her tour manager.
LBJ wrote all the songs on her debut CD leave off her starting time single, "I Am a Woman," penned by R. Kelly. Andrew Johnson is the girl of '60s R&B/blues isaac Bashevis Singer Syl Johnson, office of the famous Hi Records roster. She grew up hearing to Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Tina Turner, the Dells, and Mavis Staples. Early on, she developed a dearest for music. She performed in local bands in Chicago. She american ginseng in her church consort at Greater Christian Unity. She worked in classical and evangel choirs as well as jazz ensembles at Drake University and at Illinois State University, where she majored in music. After having nodes distant from her vocal corduroys, she took two long time of speech therapy. She has seven years of vocal education. All the voiceless work made Johnson one of her generation's nearly soulful and realistic R&B singers.
